DIGS Continues Popular Little Spike! Young Player's Program with Fall 2009 Sessions

September 16, 2009

Little Spike Winter 2009 Clinic Participants

Due to the great success and high demand for our youth development clinic program, DIGS is pleased to announce that we will hold a second year of clinics for young female players starting in the the fall of 2009.

Positioned for players ages 6 - 12, this program - named "Little Spike!" - is designed for beginners and experienced younger players who are seeking a strong volleyball fundamentals program that is fun and tailored to their needs.  This allows girls who are new to the game, as well as those with some experience, exposure to club-like volleyball training in a more casual environment.

The program also allows stronger players exposure to club training in advance of club season try-outs in late November 2009.  DIGS has traditionally fielded two 14-and-under girls teams and is considering a 12-and-under team for the 2010 season.

The fall program will run on Wednesday evenings  from 6:00 - 7:30 PM for seven sessions, beginning Wednesday, September 30, 2009 (last evening is Wednesday, November 11).  It will be held at DIGS's main training facility:  Solomon Schechter Day School in New Milford, New Jersey.

Interested families should contact the club at LittleSpike@DIGSVolleyball.com to hold a spot or to obtain more information.  Please provide the player's name, age, home town and girl's T-shirt size.  Walk-in "new joiners" will be allowed also on Wednesday, October 7.

The clinic will begin promptly at 6:00 PM (arrive at 5:45 the first day).  Parents will receive a short orientation on the program while the girls participate in training.  During the parent meeting, DIGS's board members will discuss the program and answer questions.  A full payment of $200 is required on the first day of attendance.  This program fee covers all training, and includes a cool DIGS Club jacket and T-shirt.

Players should wear tennis or volleyball shoes, knee pads, gym shorts and a T-shirt, and bring water.
