For DIGS Families:  Positive Coaching Alliance

Information and Resources on the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) Program
Positive Coaching Alliance logo

A key goal for DIGS in 2008 is to establish a common culture and approach that is shared by all parents, players, and coaches regarding how we will deliver a fulfilling, effective and exceptionally positive volleyball experience.  This requires that all players, the players' coaches and teams, team parents and DIGS as an organization share the same values, march to the same drum, and work toward a common goal.

The Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) program is one of the ways DIGS is working toward this goal.  Over the course of the season players, coaches, parents and club staff will receive training and communications as well as on-going feedback regarding the values, norms and behaviors associated with "Honoring the Game" and demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship and positive focus in practices, training and competition.

Below are various resources associated with the program:

  • Los Angeles Lakers Coach Phil Jackson talks about the PCA approach and philosophy (it's a high-quality video and loads a bit slowly, but it's insightful and concise)
