Four-step Process to Register for Clinic / Team Try-outs

Step 1:  Read About Clinic / Tryouts Dates and Procedures

For information about the nature of the DIGS Program, please return to the Home Page and view web pages under "About DIGS" on the top banner navigation bar.

The 2009 DIGS clinic and team try-outs will be held this year over two separate weeks.

The dates for this year's clinics and tryouts are as follows:

  • High school freshmen and girls in middle school and grade school:  Sunday, November 15 through Wednesday, November 18, 2009.  (CLOSED TO NEW REGISTRATIONS)
  • High school sophomores, juniors and seniors:  Sunday, November 22 through Tuesday, November 24, 2009.  (CLOSED TO NEW REGISTRATIONS)

This outstanding multi-day program is focused on developing volleyball skills for girls ages 9 - 18 of all skill levels.  Conducted by DIGS technical director Scott Mosé, former assistant coach - US National Volleyball Team, and the DIGS coaching staff, the clinic provides training and instruction as well as the opportunity to interact with some of the top players and coaches in Northeast New Jersey.

During these sessions a player's skills levels will also be evaluated for those wishing to try out for a DIGS team.  Participation in the DIGS clinic is required in order to try out for one of the DIGS 2010 season club teams.  A student can participate in the clinic, however, while not trying out for a team.

The Sunday session begins with registration "check in" followed by clinic, held concurrently with a parent meeting in which club officers will present on the program and take questions.

Procedures and Fees:

Fees for this year's clinic are $100.00 for freshmen and younger and $90.00 for sophomores and order (as this clinic is one day shorter).  This fee covers all charges for the multi-day clinic and tryouts, and includes a cool DIGS T-shirt.

The clinic is held at our main training facility: Solomon Schechter Day School, 275 McKinley Avenue, in New Milford, New Jersey.  Directions can be found on this page.

Please note that the school is strictly kosher - only water is allowed into the building.  Students are also required to wear appropriate volleyball gear, including knee pads, sneakers or volleyball shoes, a T-shirt, shorts and socks.

Registration actually involves two different online registrations:

1)     GEVA registration (GEVA the regional organizing body for volleyball) – You set up a new account or access a previously existing account, enter student information, and then print out, complete, and sign two forms.  This is detailed in Step 2.

2)     DIGS registration – You set up a new parent account (or access your account from the prior season) and select either the Freshmen or Younger clinic (Nov. 15 - 18) or Sophomore, Junior, Senior clinic (Nov. 22 - 24).  You then complete registration (including making online credit card) and print out a confirmation.  This is detailed in Step 3.

In Step 4, you assemble a packet to mail in to DIGS - this includes the GEVA and DIGS forms, plus proof of age and medical insurance coverage.

If you wish to formally register for clinic / try-outs, you should now proceed to Step 2:  Complete GEVA Online Registration.
